Triptych Posters
Programs Used:
Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
Project Origin:
Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design Project
Purpose:
Design for change.
I was tasked with creating a cohesive series of posters with a consistent theme and aesthetic that could also work independently as effective standalone posters. I decided to focus on promoting physical activity as people age. The headline "Don't quit" highlights the word "Do it" to motivate viewers to take action.
Process Work
Sketches
I created different concepts based on the themes of each campaign and developed a clear call to action for each set of posters. In addition, I conducted research on brands associated with aging and physical activity for older adults in order to incorporate the relevant logos and connect the campaign to a specific cause.
Typography
I paired a sans-serif font to have a clean and straightforward style. I also used a larger font due to better readability for the older audience it was intended for.
Color Palette
I used Adobe Color’s picker tool to select a color that closely matched each poster, ensuring a cohesive theme through color, imagery, and text.
Digital Iterations
I tried various methods to emphasize the text, “DO IT!” within the headline “DON’T QUIT!” I wanted this to serve as a call to action to inspire the viewer to keep exercising and not give up, even when things get tough or busy. I replaced the period in the headline with a hand-drawn exclamation mark to create a personal connection with the people within the posters.
Final Posters
Here are my final posters series. I simplified the layout, brightened the coloring of the poster fade for better readability and used a color theme that was found in each photo.
